José Enrique Plaza Alfaro

Bachelor of bands from the Royal School of Music (Associated Board of Royal Schools music), he began his musical studies at the Musical Society of Algemesí (Valencia) and the Conservatory of Music "John the Baptist Cabanilles" in this town. The intermediate and advanced course at the Conservatory of Music of Valencia with Miguel Llopis Bernat, where he obtained the calificacions Excel with the Honor Award and Excel Intermediate to Advanced Level Honorable Mention.

Must Attend courses for management Bands of Alborache with maestro José María Cervera Collado, Valencia Berklee University, taught by Rafael Sanz Espert, Primitive Band of Liria Salvador Sebastian Lopez and Fernando Ferrer.

Professional development necessary to emphasize teaching at the Conservatory of Music "John the Baptist Cabanilles" Algemesí (Valencia), Conservatory of Murcia Conservatory of Gijón Conservatory of Cáceres, Professional Conservatory and the Conservatory of Córdoba Valencia. He has also collaborated with the Orquesta Municipal de Valencia, JONDE, Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of Cordoba, with which also acted as a soloist under the direction of the Director Gloria Isabel Ramos Triano. One member of the saxophone "Adolphe Sax" with which has performed numerous concerts and courses.

In September 1997 he participated in the organization of the "XI World Saxophone Congress" held in Valencia and acted as a soloist with the Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro José Fabra and the Valencia Municipal Band, directed by teacher Pablo Sánchez Torrella.

He has directed music bands La Pobla Larga, Algemesí Almussafes. Founded Saxophone Ensemble and the Ensemble Saxophone, Bass hoops and the Conservatory of Córdoba. He currently directs the Big Band of the Conservatory of Torrent.

In 1992 he entered the body of opposition by teachers of music M.E.C., currently, he teaches saxophone at the Conservatory of Torrent.

The Young Band  Primitiva de Llíria, was formed in 1953. The junior band serves as a first learning step during the instruction of the new musicians in the Music School of our society. Its first conductor was Lirio Palomar Faubel.

The Young Band  is a very important step in the formation of our musicians’ personal and professional abilities. Currently, it is made up of 100 young musicians that range from the ages of 10 to 18 . Image

From the many conductors which have helped in this hard task, we could highlight the extraordinary jobs ofFrancisco Ramos, Francisco Alegre, Pedro Vicente, Salvador Oliver and Miguel-Pelegrí Verdeguer.

As far as important prizes, we would point out:

  • First prize in the Certamen Internacional de Bandas de Música de Valencia, the junior band category, in 1989.Conductor: Francisco Alegre
  • First prize in theI Certamen de Marchas Moras y Cristianas Ciudad de Oliva (Valencia) in 2003. Conductor: Miguel-Pelegrí Verdeguer
  • First prize in the I Certamen de Bandas Juveniles, Rotary Club l' Eliana (Valencia) in 2004. Conductor: Miguel-Pelegrí Verdeguer

ImageLa Banda Juvenil has carried out many performances thoughout Spain (Madrid, Sevilla, Ciudad Real, Teruel, Barcelona, Alacant, Tarragona, Murcia, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra, etc.) They have also played in TVE and RTVV.

The juniors have travelled abroad in cultural and musical exchanges with the bands of Luzerna (Switzerland), Friedrichshafen (Germany) and Aveiro and Coimbra (Portugal), this experience has been both enriching and successful.

since March 2009, the band is conducted by Miguel Ángel Navarro Gimeno.
